Mindful Monday

The Just and Unjust

“God makes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust alike.”

To me, that means the things I think are wrong might not damn me and the things I think are OK, could. The things I think are forbidden and taboo like eating cake for breakfast or going to porn sites or perhaps even murder and robbery are equal to the tang from a sip of Clamato or the crunch of a crisp kosher dill pickle or the savor of a dark chocolate truffle.

How can that be? Because, anything – so called pleasure or pain, positive or negative, that makes the ego world real damns me. Not that damnation is possible. But forgetting my reality as spirit – my reality as the image and likeness, is damnation. Taking things too seriously, making them real, is the problem. Could the be? Is that what the quote means?
