The Very Same
What if science and religion agree: There is only one energy, one power, one source in, through and around us, as us and as the cosmos? That’s what Einstein found and what the ancient Hebrew prayer the Schma says. We use that energy when we think, feel and dream. Our thoughts, even our unconscious thoughts, are mental equivalents – molds, the energy flows into creating our experience. There is no duality – no god and the devil, just one.
The very same energy that creates our troubles, creates beauty, harmony, happiness, prosperity and radiant good health. It’s our choice. What mental equivalents are we using? Happy Thanksgiving!

Achtung!
I was just following orders.
Compassion, ethics, personal responsibility and choice all gone. Poof! Just following orders.
Perhaps in Nazi Germany one could have died a horrible death and had their family murdered unless they obeyed.
But is that true now in Washington, DC?
What price would Emily Murphy, the current GSA Director pay, if she disobeyed orders and did the right thing by allowing the Transition to proceed?
Perhaps, perhaps, she’d go to jail. Not likely but perhaps.
During the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King said that all the good people were in jail. He was right.
Too bad the Trump cult won’t follow that example. But they won’t because like so many of the Nazified Germans, Trumpified Americans agree with their orders.

None Dare Call it Murder
Why isn’t it murder? The bodies are piling up. The science is clear. Its willful disregard amounts to premeditation.
It’s not called ‘murder’ but it is, isn’t it? Think about it. It’s the way we look at it. The way we’ve always looked at it. Murder has to be one person killing another. But these are extraordinary times, aren’t they? So many ‘firsts’. The way we’ve always looked at murder isn’t up to the task.
We’ve got to deal with things as they are, don’t we? Don’t we have to take responsablity, for what’s going on, for all the sickness and death and the promise of more? Decisions have been made, are being made…and people are getting sick and dying. We’ve got to see, understand, and there have to be consequences.
The old way of perceiving murder isn’t up to the current mass scale. Plus the politicization of the disease makes it harder to see that it is murder. If we did call it ‘murder’ perhaps we’d react differently. Perhaps the people making decisions at the highest levels would be held responsible. They’d have to face the consequences of their decisions. Also, if we called it ‘murder’ perhaps those millions of cultists who support those decision makers might wake up. But as it is, it’s not murder, no one’s guilty and we continue to die.

Alone
We all journey alone together.
The journey from birth to death is the same for each of us – Democrats and Republicans, Americans and Russians, Blacks and Whites.
Why all the BS in between?
It’s possible to recognize our shared trip, have compassion and accept our oneness.
Let’s choose to do that, now, right now.

Warriors of Delight
When you get up in the morning
is your body stiff and achey?
Is your first thought
carpe diem?
When you catch a
glimpse of yourself
do you nod and smile
or shudder?
What’s your default?
Grimness, struggle,
low grade anxiety
and doubt or
calm assurance?
But there’s a lot
to be grateful for
isn’t there?
Why not appreciate that;
go from there
be a warrior for delight
instead of a grinch?

Explanations
As I continue to search for explanations of why so many of my countrymen, not only cling to, but actively support the nasty negativity that Trump and his people are, I found this: “No one decides against their own happiness, but may do so if they do not see they do it.” Yes. Good. A partial explanation.
And the demographic and moral shift away from white power and dominance: “One is never afraid of the unknown: one is afraid of the known coming to an end.”
And this that goes with that: What if I discovered an idea that invalidated the idea of who and what I believed myself to be? Wouldn’t there be confusion, anger and blame?
That is all happening. Yet there is another way to look at it – “that which I am is not who I think I am.” What if I’ve been grasping for the wrong materials as I assembled my life? What if all the ideals in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are good and can be made real for everybody of all races and sexual preferences? It takes courage to consider this. So many cling to their fears.
Can I choose again, differently? Do I have the courage and strength to let go what doesn’t work, given the environmental destruction, economic deprivation and human pain and suffering all around me? Can I entertain a greater vision of who I and my fellow human beings are, realizing that consciousness, life itself and energy cannot be measured nor confined to a small box?

Wow!
My head is spinning. My heart is aching. Even if Biden wins, legally, half my fellow Americans voted for the man and his sycophants who will destroy us all. How wrong I was! How confused. What was I thinking? What values do I have that half my fellow citizens do not share? I feel like a stranger in a strange land. All the explanations for considering 2016 an aberration don’t hold now. Apparently, there’s a fundamental shift about what matters in the hearts and minds of my fellow Americans. I am afraid; very afraid. The ego has won. I must breath deeper, go within and give it over to Spirit.

Urgency
Butterflies in the tummy. Palpitations. Shortness of breath. Trembling. Shaking hands.
Do it now! Important! Top priority! Hurry! Don’t delay! Drop everything else! Stat! Urgent! Your life, civilization, the planet depend on it.
Really? Could that be true? Sometimes it feels that way, a frenzy. How good is the work done in those conditions? I don’t know about you, but for me, it’s not as good as when I do it from the center out, rather than from the fear, doubt and worry in.
Urgency is the ego’s way of making the illusion real. When I feel it, I breathe deep, seek my calm center and act from there.

Scarcity
The anxious feeling that I am lacking, incomplete, needy. Where does it come from? Inside or outside? Both.
The closer to the heart I go, the more I find myself desiring to have what I have carried there from the beginning. This desire comes, not from scarcity, but from abundance; a yearning to unlock the mystery of what is already there and be more complete. As I am able to do this, I experience gratitude and sense of acceptance of what is and the ability to act from that place.

Almost At Once
How I feel is up to me. Mental and emotional discomfort are a choice. I can hold on to them, try to figure them out, or just let them go. Shift happens. They dissipate almost at once if I let them go or ask to see things differently. A deep breath, yawn, stretch, change of position, brief walk, day dream, a look out the window can do it. There’s always something, isn’t there? Giving it over as soon as I catch myself, allows the discomfort to shift, almost at once.
